Nature has inspired all of the arts over the centuries providing countless hints in terms of examples of colours, shapes, sounds and, moods because its beauty is capable of arousing the strongest and deepest of emotions.
More than ever before, we understand it’s a fragile and endangered asset, but hopefully from awareness will arise concrete actions to protect and respect it.
A collection of fabrics inspired by nature
With our new collection for 2020, we wish to celebrate it, by creating an imaginary journey through landscapes whose colours and atmospheres evoke particular feelings. Colours like the neutral tones of the lands in the morning mist, the changing greens of grassy meadows caressed by the wind, the blues of clear skies on peaceful nights and deep oceans crossed by gleams of light. But also the vibrant yellows and reds of the sunlight, bursting of energy at noon, and warm at sunset.
Blue, the colour of the year 2020, is revisited in several shades that instil serenity, peace of mind and tranquillity and amplify the message it carries: just as the sky is vast and infinite, so too we should look beyond the obvious to expand our thinking. This way, we can increase our perspective, open the flow of communication, and better connect with other living beings.
The new 2020 range of Bevilacqua furnishing fabrics
Among our novelties, there are not only new colours but also original patterns from our Historical Archives: unique and luxurious fabrics that may become the focal point of an interior or blend harmoniously with any room decoration.
“Acanto” Brocatelle 34895
An elegant decorative motif, characterized by a profusion of acanthus leaves and other naturalistic elements such as flowers, buds, pine cones and sinuous shoots, which gently emerge from the bottom, highlighted by their shine. We are presenting this new brocatelle in five colours: Nuvola, Pavone, Red, Green and Olive green.
A new colour, the “Antique green”, is being added to the other nine already offered for this sumptuous brocatelle, with a beautiful decorative motif of vases full of flowers, framed by acanthus leaves, a typical 18th-century pattern.
Large branches bordered by small pomegranates wind in a vertical serpentine pattern, interrupted at regular intervals by a large corolla with a multitude of flowers at the centre, surrounded by tiny thistles. This design recalls the decorative typology of the Griccia Renaissance velvets, produced both in Venice and Florence, and used both in aristocratic clothing and furnishings. The new Griccia brocatelle is offered in five colours: Antique gold, Antique turquoise, Antique red, Antique blue, and Antique green. We call “antique” a colour whose brilliance is dampened by a touch of grey to recall the unique charm of vintage fabrics.
We are adding the “Antique green” also to the Grottesche brocatelle, which is already offered in four colours. This is a shade that enhances this fabric characterized by a particular pattern which is the result of a refined blend of styles typical of the late 19th century: winged female figures and sphinxes, Baroque architectural details and Rococo naturalistic elements.
A fabric with a distinctive and dynamic look, which combines intense hues and a modern pattern. The colour variants proposed are “multicoloured coral” with yellow and red accents and “multicoloured ocean” with cooler shades of green. Ideal for contemporary settings or to give an ethnic touch to an interior.
“Paesaggio” Lampas 39040
A fabric with a unique ornamental motif, formed by clusters of flowers, which open, revealing a glimpse of an imaginary landscape. The view, surrounded by leafy branches, shows architectural structures on several perspective levels. In the foreground are, pillars rising from basements and supporting a pediment. The colours proposed are six: Mandorla, Green, Coral, Jade, Blue and, Antique Yellow.
This new lampas, with its stunning pattern, represents stylized tulips surrounded by curled leaves. The combination of colours and the ornamental motif, enhanced by the shine of metallic yarns, make it a fabric of unique refinement and elegance, perfect for both classic and contemporary environments.
