Who was Bianca Cappello
Bianca was born in Venice in 1548, from one of the most ancient and illustrious families of the Venetian aristocracy.
Her beauty enchanted the whole city and led her father to make big plans for her, destining her to a marriage with an exponent of one of the noblest families in the city.
But Bianca, along with charm and allure, was endowed with a passionate and rebellious temperament. At the age of 15, she escaped from his father’s house to follow the love that brought her to Florence, where she met the Grand Duke Francesco di Toscana, of which she became first lover and then consort.
Bianca was a woman capable of arousing strong and conflicting feelings, there were those who loved and admired her, but also those who hated and feared her. One thing, however, is certain: Bianca combined in herself qualities of great charisma and anti-conformism that always pushed her to follow her heart, regardless of the judgments of society.
