In the heart of Venice, a city that enchants the world with its timeless beauty and rich history, the second edition of an extraordinary event is taking place, in which Tessitura Luigi Bevilacqua will also participate: the Salone dell’Alto Artigianato Italiano (High-end Italian Craftsmanship Fair). Let’s find out what it’s all about.
The Salone dell’Alto Artigianato Italiano: A National Excellence
The Salone dell’Alto Artigianato Italiano is a unique opportunity to celebrate Italian art and craftsmanship, offering a privileged showcase to admire artifacts of the highest quality and how they are made. This event will be held in the Arsenale of Venice (Venetian Arsenal), a location that embodies the thousand-year history and art of this lagoon city. Here, for four days, you will have the opportunity to discover the best of Italian craftsmanship in a wide range of sectors, from ceramics to fine fabrics, from blown glass works to precious stones, from jewelry to furniture.
The Salone offers a unique opportunity to meet artisans, to learn the stories behind the creation of each object, and to explore the creative processes behind these extraordinary works. It is an excellent way to learn more about the great contribution of Italian craftsmen to the art and culture of our country.
Bevilacqua’s Proposals at the Salone dell’Alto Artigianato Italiano
Our Tessitura will also participate in the Salone dell’Alto Artigianato Italiano, presenting a wide range of products that testify to the traditions of textile craftsmanship of the highest quality, the result of a centuries-old heritage. Here is a quick roundup of the textiles, for upholstery and fashion, that you can discover at our booth.
Velvet
This fabric is known for its characteristic thick pile that provides unparalleled softness and brilliance of color. Also, among the offerings are velvets still made by hand using original 18th-century looms. Among these is soprarizzo or chiseled velvet, a true masterpiece of craftsmanship, the most precious and exclusive category of Luigi Bevilacqua fabrics. It’s the result of a long and elaborate process that combines curly and cut velvet, creating extraordinary effects of chiaroscuro and depth. Velvet has a history linked to Venice, where in the 15th and 17th centuries it was produced for residences and clothing of the privileged classes.
Damask
Damask is a light, silky fabric with richly detailed designs that are characterized by an iridescent sheen. The pattern is visible on both the front and back, but the shiny and matte parts are opposite, creating a contrasting effect.
Lampas
This textured fabric is known for its complex structure that allows for three-dimensional designs that stand out against the background. Often embellished with gold or silver threads, lampas has an ancient history and today is used in furnishings for upholstery, curtains, and luxury wall hangings.
Brocatelle
Brocatelle is a fine fabric characterized by raised patterns obtained by the juxtaposition of stiff weaves and light silk warps.
These exceptional fabrics offer a wide range of options for luxury interior design and the creation of fine clothing. Yet we will not only present textiles at the Salon, but also interior design accessories.
Scatter Cushions: Emblems of Elegance and Comfort
Decorative pillows are pieces of furniture that transform interiors, adding style, color and personality. Until the 19th century, they were considered objects of great value reserved for the wealthy classes. Our collection includes cushions in velvet and other fabrics that add a touch of warmth and sophistication to any room.
Bags Inspired by Venetian Fabrics
In addition to furnishing and clothing fabrics, we will also present some items from our bag collection at the Salone. These accessories are the result of collaboration with Italian artisans who handcraft leather and expertly sew Bevilacqua fabrics. These bags take inspiration from Venetian and Italian fashion through the centuries, offering a variety of unique designs, patterns and fabrics.
Attending the Salone dell’Alto Artigianato Italiano is an extraordinary opportunity to discover the excellence of Italian and Venetian craftsmanship. Don’t miss the opportunity to visit it and be sure to come to our booth where you can see and touch our textiles and furnishing accessories. We look forward to seeing you there!
